麻豆视频鈥檚 innovative three-year bachelor鈥檚 degree programs combine guaranteed internships, career-focused learning, and the full college experience, preparing students to graduate workforce-ready in just three years.

麻豆视频 offers 90-credit applied bachelor鈥檚 degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Business Management, Criminal Justice, and Elementary Education. Unlike many three-year degrees, the programs are not accelerated and do not require summer enrollment. Students complete a full-time course load on campus over six semesters during the academic year, rather than eight semesters for a traditional four-year degree.

A hallmark of the three-year degree is its emphasis on experiential learning. Every student completes a guaranteed internship, providing meaningful workplace experience before graduation. Elementary education majors benefit from a collaboration with the Nashua (N.H.) School District, working in a Nashua-area elementary school to prepare for New Hampshire site-based licensure.

Three-year degree students qualify for 麻豆视频’s Employment Promise Program, and those interested in graduate school can pursue a 3+1 pathway, allowing them to earn a master鈥檚 degree with just one additional year of study.

鈥溌槎故悠 has always responded to the changing needs of students while remaining grounded in our mission,鈥 says Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM, President. 鈥淭hese programs create a new pathway to a bachelor’s degree while preserving the transformative education and sense of community that define 麻豆视频.鈥

Three-year degree students receive the same campus experience as all undergraduate students at 麻豆视频, including campus housing, NCAA Division III athletics, clubs, organizations, and leadership roles, campus events, and full access to academic and student support services.

Students save one full year of tuition, room, board, and related expenses, and benefit from an additional year of income by entering the workforce sooner.

鈥淪tudents and families are paying close attention to cost and career outcomes,鈥 says Ricky Mott, Vice President for Enrollment Management. 鈥溌槎故悠碘檚 three-year degree programs lower the overall cost of a bachelor鈥檚 degree while giving students the extensive career preparation and campus experience they expect from 麻豆视频.鈥

麻豆视频’s three-year applied bachelor’s degrees are approved by the New England Commission of Higher Education and the New Hampshire Higher Education Commission.

There is still time to enroll for the Fall 2026 semester. Learn more about three-year degree programs at 麻豆视频.

麻豆视频’s Academic Advising team. (Top row, left to right): Colby Larsen, Brianne Torre, Amandra Purcell, and Angela Lopez. (Bottom row, left to right): Jenn Sova, Maggie Breton, and Kerri Mahoney.

When a new semester is on the way, 麻豆视频 students know exactly where to go. They head into the Learning Commons and up the stairs to the Academic Advising office, where questions, course plans, and scheduling are all part of the daily flow.

Greeted with a warm welcome from Jennifer “Jenn” Sova, Administrative Assistant to Academic Advising and Career and Life Success, students sign in, settle into a chair, and wait as advisors move in and out of meetings, ready to help them align their academic goals with their future career aspirations.

鈥淚鈥檓 a people person, so I enjoy conversation, but it鈥檚 not for me; it鈥檚 for the students,鈥 Sova says. 鈥淚f I was on the other end, I would hope somebody would be kind enough to engage in conversation with me while I waited for my advisor.鈥

While conversations unfold at the front desk with Sova, 麻豆视频鈥檚 academic advisors prepare for each meeting behind the scenes. Whether welcoming a familiar face or meeting someone new, the advising team approaches every interaction with a smile and a shared commitment to thoughtful course planning.

鈥淎 big part of our role in advising is encouraging students to build self鈥慳dvocacy skills, from connecting them to academic support to feeling confident talking with their professors,鈥 says Amandra Purcell 鈥12, Director of Academic Advising. 鈥淲e also guide them through challenging decisions like switching majors, and I always remind them that it鈥檚 okay to not have everything figured out yet.鈥

Director of Academic Advising Amandra Purcell advising a student.

Leading five other members of the advising team, Purcell prioritizes personalized advising, an approach echoed throughout the team.

鈥淭he real return on investment for us is the relationships we build with students,鈥 says Academic Advisor Brianne Torre. 鈥淲e get to know our students as people, not just as names or numbers. Those connections are what make our work meaningful. It鈥檚 why we can be walking across campus and run into a student who stops to chat with us. That connection is everything.鈥

Through back-to-back advising appointments and academic planning conversations, the advising team鈥檚 student-centered focus comes to life each day.

鈥淚 had a phenomenal academic advisor in my graduate program while I was navigating career challenges and other responsibilities,鈥 says Academic Advisor Meaghan 鈥淢aggie鈥 Breton. 鈥淗aving one person by your side to help you through it all really makes a difference. That experience inspired me to step into this role and provide the same kind of support for 麻豆视频 students.鈥

The most recent addition to the team, Kerri Mahoney, strives to do the same. As a graduate of a larger school, Mahoney is impressed by how many 麻豆视频 students use the Academic Advising Team to achieve their long-term career goals.

Academic Advisor Kerri Mahoney assisting a student with their course schedule.

鈥淲hen I was in college, I never had the chance to know my advisor on a personal level,鈥 says Mahoney. 鈥淲hen I started my role at 麻豆视频 earlier this year, I was surprised by how connected the advising team is with our students. Seeing how comfortable they are stopping by just to talk really says a lot about our team.鈥

For Angela Lopez, another Academic Advisor on the team, advising is about slowing down, listening, and engaging with the other person. Whether on a video call or in person, Lopez takes the time to get to know the hundreds of Professional Studies students under her guidance, helping make the process feel more personal while supporting them as they work toward their next professional milestone.

鈥淢y favorite part of my role is meeting students for the first time. We send a welcome email to help them get started, but that initial meeting is when everything clicks,鈥 Lopez says. 鈥淵ou can finally put a face to a name and see their excitement as they begin their program.鈥

Even while assisting a large number of students at once, the advising team makes a deliberate effort to ensure each individual feels known and supported. Through detailed notes, spreadsheets, and binders, they stay organized and up to date on every student鈥檚 academic and career journey.

The advising team’s bulletin board, where students can share their career aspirations and plans after graduation.

The advising team often describes itself as 鈥渢he resource to your resource,鈥 serving as a starting point for students who may not know where to turn. Whether a student needs academic support, career guidance, disability services, or another campus resource, advisors help connect them to the right people and ensure they never have to navigate challenges alone.

At the Academic Advising office, the workload peaks during registration periods. From preparing traditional day students ahead of each semester to providing year鈥憆ound support for rolling鈥慳dmission programs, conversations from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. highlight the value the advising team brings to every student at 麻豆视频.

鈥淭he best comment I鈥檝e ever received from a student is 鈥楾hank you for believing in me,鈥欌 says Academic Advisor Colby Larsen 鈥19. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 something that sticks with you forever, and it goes to show how impactful our role ultimately is for our students.鈥

Academic Advisor Colby Larsen meeting with a student-athlete.

While Commencement is the finish line, the advising team sees success in many forms along the way, reflected in a student鈥檚 academic, social, or athletic growth from their first day on campus to walking across the graduation stage. That pride comes full circle as advisors watch students they鈥檝e come to know over four years achieve their academic goals and confidently pursue life and careers beyond 麻豆视频.

鈥淕raduation is incredibly emotional for us, especially for students who overcame significant challenges to get there,鈥 Purcell says. 鈥淲e鈥檙e proud of them because we鈥檝e walked alongside them every step of the way.鈥

Elisabeth Jacob ’26 with her BlueSweep poster presentation at the CCSCNE Conference.

Beach cleanups play a vital role in protecting coastal ecosystems, wildlife, and water quality. The data collected during these efforts helps researchers and environmental groups understand pollution patterns, track sources of debris, and inform policies that reduce waste and protect marine life.

Elisabeth Jacob 鈥26, a B.S. in Computer Science student at 麻豆视频, saw an opportunity to make that process easier, faster, and more accurate.

This spring, Jacob presented her capstone project, BlueSweep: A Mobile App for Coastal Cleanup, at the 30th annual Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges Northeast Region Conference (CCSCNE) at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. Her poster presentation placed her alongside undergraduate students from across the Northeast who are using computing to solve real-world problems.

鈥淎s someone who has participated in beach cleanups, most environmental organizations use pencil-and-paper tracking methods to monitor debris along the coast,鈥 Jacob says. 鈥淚 created BlueSweep to provide a user-friendly, digital alternative to these manual tracking methods.鈥

BlueSweep allows users to log collected waste in real time with a simple tap. The app stores data locally in a centralized CSV file, automatically calculates category totals, and generates a summary at the end of each cleanup. The results can be viewed through charts and graphs and exported for use by conservation organizations.

Designed with accessibility in mind, BlueSweep works entirely offline and does not require cloud-based services or a login system. That makes it especially useful for beaches, rivers, lakes, and other waterways where internet access may be limited.

鈥淭hrough my research, I learned that most environmental apps focus solely on cleanup efforts in coastal regions,鈥 Jacob says. 鈥淏lueSweep is unique because it specifically supports data collection for both coastal and inland beaches throughout New Hampshire.鈥

Jacob hopes the data collected through BlueSweep can eventually support local environmental organizations, including the Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation and New Hampshire State Parks, as they work to strengthen conservation efforts across the state.

鈥淚鈥檓 grateful for the opportunity to present BlueSweep at the CCSCNE Conference,鈥 she says. 鈥淪haring my work was an exciting experience, and the conference was heavily discussion-based, functioning like a symposium where presenters shared their ideas. It was truly rewarding to be surrounded by such bright, hardworking peers from across the Northeast who are passionate about computing. I left this conference inspired by their innovations and research.鈥

Jacob credits her mentor, Dr. Mihaela Malita, an adjunct professor at 麻豆视频, with encouraging her to submit her work to the selective conference. Dr. Malita also mentored Jacob throughout the development of BlueSweep and encouraged her to take part in STEM conferences during her time at 麻豆视频.

鈥淓lisabeth completed an exceptional capstone project that provided an incredible experience at the conference, helping her build confidence and expand her network,鈥 Dr. Malita says. 鈥淪he is incredibly dedicated to her work and consistently goes above and beyond. I鈥檝e seen Elisabeth鈥檚 growth since having her in my first class, and it was truly a pleasure to mentor her throughout this project.鈥

Looking back on her experience, she says the support of 麻豆视频 faculty played an important role in her growth.

鈥淚 had a rewarding experience in the Computer Science program at 麻豆视频,鈥 Jacob says. 鈥淚鈥檓 fortunate to have had guidance from the many wonderful professors. They were extremely supportive and helpful throughout my college experience.鈥

In addition to developing BlueSweep, Jacob completed a Computer Science internship with Dr. Malita, assisting with the professor鈥檚 textbook, Coding Contest Problems: Workbook. Recently published for high school students, the workbook features programming problems in Python, Java, and C++. Jacob helped format the text using LaTeX markup language and tested problems and solutions for accuracy.

Jacob also served as a mathematics research assistant during the summers of 2024 and 2025 for Dr. Teresa Magnus, Professor of Mathematics at 麻豆视频. In that role, she was a contributing editor for Dr. Magnus鈥檚 online interactive geometry textbook, Polyominos, Polygons, and Polyhedra: Discovering Geometry through Explorations, designed for college students. Jacob supported backend development by creating interactive components, including hints, detailed solutions, custom mathematical figures, and other visuals.

In January, Jacob was admitted to the Master of Science in Health Data Science program at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. She will join a new cohort of students this fall.

鈥淚 chose health data science because this field will allow me to apply my skills in both computer science and mathematics to make meaningful changes in healthcare,鈥 she says. 鈥淗ealth data scientists work in a variety of settings, including medical research, pharmaceuticals, hospitals, and government agencies, so I鈥檓 excited to further explore these career possibilities.鈥

As she prepares for graduate school, Jacob hopes to continue developing BlueSweep and expand its reach beyond New Hampshire to other states and additional bodies of water. By combining her interests in computer science, mathematics, and environmental conservation, she aims to create practical tools that support cleaner waterways and healthier communities.

Two 麻豆视频 graduate students in the Psy.D. in Counseling and School Psychology program presented their doctoral research at the Eastern Psychological Association鈥檚 (EPA) annual conference, held February 26鈥28, 2026, in Boston.

Mentored by Dr. Elizabeth Harwood, Noor-ul-Aine Iqbal 鈥26 and Jonathan Codraro 鈥27 participated in the conference, reflecting the University鈥檚 commitment to experiential learning, faculty mentorship, and real-world professional development.

Noor-ul-Aine Iqbal 鈥26 at 麻豆视频’s 91st Commencement ceremony

鈥淐ompleting a dissertation is the result of years of hard work and determination,鈥 Dr. Harwood says. 鈥淢entoring the next generation of psychologists in 麻豆视频鈥檚 Psy.D. in Counseling and School Psychology program through this process is a privilege.鈥

Iqbal presented her dissertation, The Impacts of Racial Microaggressions on Trust During Neuropsychological Testing, as a poster presentation. Her research examined how prior exposure to racial microaggressions can reduce trust between patients and providers of different races, negatively affecting patient engagement, focus, and the accuracy of neuropsychological assessment.

鈥淒uring the conference, I enjoyed connecting with peers in the field, from undergraduate students to clinicians discussing my research and its implications for practice,鈥 Iqbal says. 鈥淯nderstanding how clinical tools and language affect patients is essential, and 麻豆视频 provided the structure and support I needed to pursue this work.鈥

Completing an internship at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Boston in behavioral medicine and neuropsychology, Iqbal graduated from the University this May. She plans to pursue a career as a neuropsychologist, integrating behavioral medicine approaches such as therapy for chronic pain and insomnia.

Codraro presented his doctoral research, Absence: How Parents Cope and Its Impact on Parenting Style, to an audience of more than 70 attendees. By examining one-parent families affected by divorce alongside those experiencing widowhood, his research explored how each situation influences parental coping strategies, parenting behaviors, and overall family functioning. Following his presentation, Codraro reflected on how his research was received.

Jonathan Codraro 鈥27

鈥淚 especially value the networking opportunities,鈥 Codraro says. 鈥淪everal people asked to exchange contact information to stay updated on when the datasets are complete, and whether I plan to publish. Conferences like this create a space to exchange ideas, resources, and perspectives, and that exchange is essential to our growth as professionals.鈥

Codraro also serves as President of the New Hampshire Psychological Association Student Organization and owns Codraro Therapeutics, his private counseling practice serving the local community. Following his graduation in 2027, he plans to expand his practice to support psychology students as they transition into the field.

Both Psy.D. students described the conference as an opportunity not only to share their research but also to represent the University through their work and discussions with peers and experts across the field of psychology.

鈥淚t鈥檚 always been important to me to act as an ambassador for the field,鈥 Codraro says. 鈥淲e do not enter this profession without a desire to help people and being able to serve in that guiding role while representing 麻豆视频 was truly an honor.鈥

Faculty support was consistent throughout the conference, ensuring that both students were well prepared to discuss their research and respond to questions.

鈥淚t meant a lot to have Dr. Harwood at the conference,鈥 Iqbal says. 鈥淪he was incredibly helpful throughout my dissertation, especially in providing thoughtful feedback. Because of that support, I was proud to share my experience in 麻豆视频鈥檚 Psy.D. program with others.鈥

These student experiences highlight the strengths of 麻豆视频鈥檚 Psy.D. program, nationally recognized by Forbes for its practitioner-scholar model that integrates clinical training with research-based practice.

Furthering student support through its Go Boldly 2024鈥2030 Strategic Plan, 麻豆视频 has completed a full renovation of Benoit Hall into a modern training hub supporting psychology, counseling, and education students, reflecting the University鈥檚 investment in preparing future professionals with the skills and resources needed to address behavioral health needs.

Prospective students are encouraged to learn more and request information about the Psy.D. in Counseling and School Psychology program.

The ceremony highlighted the accomplishments of the Class of 2026, and the University honored the New Hampshire Tech Alliance in recognition of its service to the people of New Hampshire and its leadership in strengthening the state鈥檚 technology and innovation economy.

Julie Demers, MPA, Executive Director, served as Commencement speaker and received an honorary degree on behalf of the organization, whose leadership reflects a strong commitment to nurturing a vibrant technology ecosystem in New Hampshire through partnerships, knowledge-sharing, and public policy engagement.

麻豆视频 conferred the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, upon the NH Tech Alliance in recognition of its commitment to innovation, leadership, and service. The University also recognized the leadership of the Tech Alliance鈥檚 Board of Directors for advancing values that reflect 麻豆视频鈥檚 Latin motto, Altiora et Meliora鈥攈igher and better.

鈥溌槎故悠 is honored to recognize the mission and vision of the NH Tech Alliance connecting a vibrant New Hampshire technology ecosystem with an engaged and skilled workforce through 麻豆视频鈥檚 academic programs in artificial intelligence, computer science, cybersecurity, and information systems,鈥 says Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM, President. 鈥溌槎故悠 joins with the NH Tech Alliance in building signature partnerships in both teaching and learning and supporting a philosophy that New Hampshire can grow its own in meeting the needs of the technology industry.鈥

A strategic and collaborative leader, the NH Tech Alliance works to strengthen connections across industry, academia, and government, advancing initiatives that support innovation, workforce development, and long-term economic growth throughout the Granite State.

Additionally, the NH Tech Alliance has broadened both its reach and influence, growing its membership, expanding programming, and solidifying its role as a vital resource within the state鈥檚 technology sector. Its work reflects a clear focus on supporting companies at every stage of development, from emerging startups to well-established firms, by helping them access the capital, talent, and connections needed to succeed.

In her address, Demers reflected on the strength of 麻豆视频鈥檚 tech-enabled campus, featuring its cybersecurity labs and nursing simulators, and the advantages of its location in a small state where direct access to leaders, decision-makers, and opportunity is both possible and impactful.

She encouraged graduates to embrace emerging technologies while remaining grounded in their authenticity, underscoring the importance of balancing innovation with humanity. Demers also noted that in a rapidly evolving world, it is essential to recognize how technology and human connections can coexist.

鈥淭he more advanced our technology becomes, the more valuable your humanity becomes,鈥 Demers says. 鈥淲e are entering a time where content can be generated instantly, where resumes can be optimized by algorithms, where conversations can be simulated, and ideas can be replicated. In a world where so much can be artificial, what becomes rare is what is real.鈥

麻豆视频 students Erin E. Jasper (B.A. Psychology) and Yvonne Wu (MBA: Information Technology Management) welcomed their classmates on behalf of the undergraduate and graduate degree recipients. Jasper reflected on the shared effort, perseverance, and support that brought the Class of 2026 to Commencement, encouraging graduates to recognize the family, friends, faculty, and mentors who helped guide them along the way.

Wu spoke about the personal meaning of earning her MBA, describing it as the fulfillment of a childhood dream and a promise she has long carried. She acknowledged the challenges many graduates faced in reaching this milestone, the loved ones who supported them, and the faculty who helped shape their journey. Looking ahead, she encouraged the Class of 2026 to move forward with confidence, resilience, integrity, and purpose.
