Our <a href=\"mailto:veterans@rivier.edu\">Veterans Coordinator<\/a> is available to help you navigate the process.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The United States Department of Veterans Affairs offers a wealth of information on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gibill.va.gov\/\">GI Bil<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gibill.va.gov\/\">l\u00ae<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In cooperation with the Veterans Administration (VA), Â鶹ÊÓƵ participates in numerous veterans benefits programs. If you are eligible for veterans benefits, as determined by the Veterans Administration, please get in touch with Â鶹ÊÓƵ&#8217;s Veterans Coordinator <a href=\"mailto:veterans@rivier.edu\">via email<\/a> once you&#8217;ve submitted your application or at the start of the semester. You must be enrolled in a degree program to obtain benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Applications for veterans&#8217; benefits may be obtained directly from the VA by visiting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.va.gov\/education\/how-to-apply\/\">VA Education Benefits webpage<\/a>. Completed application forms can also be mailed to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Regional Processing Office, P.O. Box 4616, Buffalo, NY 14240-4616.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018 Compliance<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Under Title 38 US Code 3679 (e), with respect to any students using VA Education Chapter 31 (Vocational Rehabilitation &amp; Employment), Chapter 33 (Post-9\/11 GI Bill\u00ae), Chapter 35 (Survivors\u2019 and Dependents\u2019 Educational Assistance &#8211; DEA), or Chapter 1606 (Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve \u2013 MGIB SR) benefits, while payment to the institution is pending from the VA, Â鶹ÊÓƵ will <strong>not<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prevent the student&#8217;s enrollment.<\/li>\n<li>Assess a late penalty fee to the student.<\/li>\n<li>Require the student to secure alternative or additional funding.<\/li>\n<li>Deny the student&#8217;s access to any resources (access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities) available to other students who have satisfied their tuition and fee payments to the institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To qualify for this provision, such students may be required by the school to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Produce the VA&#8217;s Certificate of Eligibility or eBenefits entitlement summary by the first day of class.<\/li>\n<li>Provide a written request to be certified.<\/li>\n<li>Provide any additional information needed to certify the enrollment as described in Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, Â鶹ÊÓƵ reserves the right to require additional payment or impose a late fee for the amount of tuition or fees due, which is the difference between the covered individual&#8217;s obligation and the VA education benefit disbursement.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once our VA School Certifying Official has reviewed your VA documentation, your academic advisor can assist in your course enrollment.<\/li>\n<li>Yellow Ribbon Program: Veterans who are receiving 100% tuition benefits may be eligible for funding under the Yellow Ribbon Program if they have met the maximum allowance set annually by the VA.<\/li>\n<li>Visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rivier.edu\/financial-aid\/\">Financial Aid<\/a>\u00a0for information on tuition and fees, refund policy, and other financial information.<\/li>\n<li>Principles of Excellence (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rivier.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2024\/07\/Shopping-Sheet-2024.pdf\">Shopping Sheet template<\/a>): Students will receive a personalized Shopping Sheet upon admission or after applying for financial aid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>GI Bill\u00ae is a registered trademark of the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
